My thanks to Jenny Sturgeon, who ran an online songwriting workshop during the Covid-19 virus outbreak lockdown. I had never attended any such event before, and this song came from the images and prompts that Jenny provided. Others will no doubt have seen them in an entirely different way; but for me this came together as an environmental composition with, if that works for you, a religious twist. Presenting a serious subject in an upbeat style was Jenny’s suggestion; but I have used it myself before in “New Moon Rising”, as have many others including, famously, Runrig (“Running to the Light”) and Johnny Coppin and Mike Silver (“We Had it All”) |
